Australian Port Congestion Update

22nd of June, 2022

The team at K Line have provided the following update on port congestion around Australia…

PCC/RORO Terminals yard situation around the country:

Please note, due to vessel and berth congestion in most ports around the country which is resulting in extended waiting times for vessels to berth and commence cargo operations, the port dates on the schedules have been adjusted to nearest predicted cargo operations commencement dates. These dates are continuously being monitored and will be updated if there are any changes.  Please note that the adjustments are not applied to vessels that have not yet departed overseas ports.

BRISBANE:

Delays at AAT Brisbane have reduced considerably and expect to be nil waiting time for at least next 3 weeks.

PORT KEMBLA:

AAT Port Kembla was at 60% capacity this week and vessel wait times are nil.

MELBOURNE:

Melbourne yard is sitting at 95%+ capacity and vessel wait times are about 6 days and additionally extended hrs at berth. Expect MEL to remain at capacity for next 3 weeks as usually most vessel arrivals from east coast & west coast fall within similar window due to rough weather.

FREMANTLE:

FRE Port yard capacity is fluctuating between 60-100% with back to back vessel arrivals.
